Leading contemporary artist Anish Kapoor has created a new limited-edition print, Glow for Maggie, to raise much needed funds for Maggie’s Cancer Care Centres in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The new print has been released to mark 25 years since the charity’s co-founder Maggie Keswick Jencks died, having created the blueprint for a new type of cancer care. The work offers a powerful image of light surrounded by subtle overlapping layers of blue and dark violet.
Maggie’s hope was that people with cancer should not ‘lose the joy of living in the fear of dying’ and this created a legacy of 23 cancer support centres across the UK and three abroad. 25 years on and people with cancer are facing the devastating impact of the coronavirus and need the emotional, practical and psychological support offered by Maggie’s more than ever.
Glow for Maggie can be bought online for £5,000 in a limited edition of 150.
