Gabriele Risso studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Genoa and at the École de Beaux-arts, Paris. He later worked as an assistant for Professor Massimo Chiappetta where he learned all the processes of sculpting. But it was carving that stole his heart and stone that has become his chosen medium. Fascinated with the properties of the material, Gabriele, has mastered the creation of form through subtraction and continues to look to his forefathers and the long tradition of sculpture and working methods.
