ANDREW LAWSON

Artist, Andrew Lawson is an award winning photographer with a career spanning over 40 years. His horticultural photographs capture the essence of the garden as both plant portraits and landscape pictures.

Andrew first took up garden photography in 1986, gaining recognition as one of the UK's leading garden photographers. He has worked tirelessly to promote and share the outstanding beauty of British gardens to the public through photography. With over 70 books and numerous awards to his name, Andrew has made a significant contribution to the British gardening community and has ultimately given the industry an international identity.

Publications by Andrew Lawson include The Gardener’s Book of Colour, published by Frances Lincoln, The English Garden with Ursula Buchan and Good Planting with Rosemary Verey. He has provided pictures for numerous books including those written by Penelope Hobhouse, Roy Strong, Stephen Lacey and King Charles III. In gardening circles, he is a household name and to garden professionals, a trusted and much respected colleague.

 

Charity Focus | Bridewell Gardens

Bridewell Gardens provide social and therapeutic horticulture in a working garden for adults living in Oxfordshire. Their goal is to help people into jobs or voluntary roles out in the wider community. 

Andrew’s own garden is just a few miles from Bridewell. He has followed their work for many years and is a huge supporter of the wonderful walled garden and the help it has given to so many facing challenges in their lives.
